DJ Nike's Awesome Weekend

- Courtesy of Hulk

This last Saturday, DJ Nike spent the weekend with me. We really didn't do anything aside from going to the mall. Both of us looked at shoes. DJ liked the LeBron James shoes, but I couldn't get them...for him or me. After that, we went to Pro Image, a sports store that has jerseys, hats, shirts, sweatshirts, etc.

Sunday we went to Wal-Mart and bought food for my aunt's house, but before that, DJ and I went to my cousin's football game. DJ Nike told me he wanted to play football, but I said, "You can't play." Not that I doubt his ability, he just wasn't on the team. So we went to Wal-Mart. Then we went to my aunt's house, and DJ Nike and I watched CSI New York. He liked it. Then we ate. After that, I had to go to basketball practice, but DJ stayed with my mom.

Monday, well, Monday brought DJ back home.

DJ's Debate

My four-day weekend with DJ was a normal, relaxed one. We went to breakfast on Saturday and bought him a biscuit, but he didn't want it. The highlight, if there was one, came on Sunday when we watched "Fox Animation Domination." The rock and I debated for "hours" about the presence of political views in shows such as Family Guy. DJ viewed the episode as a "waste," but I disagreed. He explained that the episode was clearly expressing a liberal bias, yet I told him that such a bias was part of the comedy genius that had made the show so successful. DJ then agreed, and we went to school the following day.

This Friday, DJ and I had a sleepover. Hulk came over and we played video games. DJ likes Street Football and Hitman. On Saturday, we watched football and DJ met my daddy. DJ said he looks cool - I agree. On Sunday, DJ went to church with me, but I kept him in my pocket because I had to serve. He didn't seem to mind (I'm not sure he's the biggest fan of church come to think of it). Then we changed my uncle's brakes. On Monday, DJ returned home safe and sound...luckily.

On Friday, DJ and I left school and went to my aunt's house. There, we went on walks and ventured to the park with Sarah, Janelle, Hailey, and Mia.

Saturday we watched the Nebraska game, but we didn't see the end because DJ and I had already planned to go to the mall with Carmella and get our ears pierced. While I had no problems getting a third piercing in each ear, DJ chickened out. Evidently, a piercing was just too scary of an idea.

Sunday brought a trip to my cousin's house in Blair, Nebraska. The highlight of the day had to be the smoothie shop. DJ got a Kit-Kat smoothie. He didn't like it. :/ To make matters worse, we then had to come back home and get ready for school the next day.

On Friday, DJ and I were supposed to visit a friend of mine, Bobby, since he was having a birthday party. but DJ was too scared to go because there were too many people there. Saturday, though, he and I did venture out to Wal-Mart. For some reason, DJ had never been there. Needless to say, he loved it! :] His favorite part was the magazine section, probably because it had his favorite magazine WWE. On Sunday, DJ got to meet my niece even though he slept in too late to go to church.

My dog Xander scared DJ at first, but then he got used to him. In fact, now they're the best of friends. DJ did admit that he was looking forward to returning home, but he also said he couldn't wait to come back! I figure since DJ wants a pair of red and black Nike's, the next time he comes to see me, we'll get him a pair.

On Saturday, DJ Nike and I went to Kansas with my family for a family reunion. Once my mom, grandma, brother, and I were in Kansas with DJ, we checked-in at our hotel in Great Bend. There, we went swimming although DJ stayed on the chair by the pool because he didn't want to mess up his hair. When we were all done at the pool, we got in the car and took a short ride to the sandpit. The sandpit is a man-made lake that was dug out of a ton of endless sand. At the sandpit, we all watched my brother and cousins fish. Then, we jumped like kangaroos on the trampoline while we listened to a local band.

Sunday we went into town and went to church. DJ stayed in the car, though, because he was sad and couldn't stop crying. After church, we went to the reunion hall and were reintroduced to long lost family members. It was during the reunion that we played volleyball with all my cousins. DJ wasn't the best teammate, though, because he was too short. We finished out the day going back to the sandpit to enjoying a fire.

DJ Nike was sad this weekend because on our way to Kansas he met a huge boulder who could only make fun of his name. As a result of this, DJ has decided he no longer likes his given name and from hereon only wants to be known as DJ.

An Upon This Rock, I Shall Start My Blog

The Pet Rock Project's inception occurred sometime last spring. While many months have since passed between then and now, the idea has been more or less the same: choose a rock and blog.

Out of many, three finalists were chosen. After a compulsory round in which the pros and cons of these finalists came to light - one, sadly, just didn't have the right "rock" look while another, just as sadly, didn't have the youthful glow that sells - one rock was chosen.

Formally given the name DJ Nike, not much is known about our pet rock's history at this point. Sure, rumors have been swirling and allegations leveled about a certain hometown, but nothing as yet has been confirmed. No doubt when DJ finally chooses to speak, answers will begin to surface.
